How to Connect Multiple Email Addresses to Your LinkedIn Account (Step-by-Step)

How to Connect Multiple Email Addresses to Your LinkedIn Account (Step-by-Step)

You’ve got access to your primary email address, yes?

You'll need it to go through these steps.

I’ll walk you through how to add a new email to your LinkedIn account and set it as the primary email address (if you want).

And if you don't want your new primary email to be public, I'll show you how to hide it from everyone or people outside your network.

Let’s start with adding a new email address.

Step 1

Click Me in the top navigation bar and select Settings & Privacy.

Step 2

Click Sign in & security and select Email addresses.

Step 3

Click Add email address.

Step 4

Enter the 6-digit code sent to your primary email and click Submit.?

Step 5

Enter your new email address and LinkedIn password and click Submit.

Step 6

Click Resend verification link if you didn’t automatically receive it in your new email’s inbox after the previous step.?

Step 7

Click the verification link sent to your new email to finally add it to your LinkedIn account.

Step 8

Enter your password to log back into your account.

Your new details will be added as a secondary email.?

You can follow these same steps to add multiple secondary emails to your LinkedIn account.

This means if you lose your primary email address, you don’t have to worry. You can sign into your LinkedIn account by simply entering any of your secondary emails and password.?

However, if you want to send LinkedIn notifications to your secondary email address or display it in the contact info section of your profile, you have to make it your primary email address.

Here’s how to do it in two simple steps on the Email settings page.

Step 1

Click Make primary beside your secondary email of choice.

Step 2

Enter your LinkedIn password and click Make primary.

If you don’t want to display your primary email address in the Contact info section, you can hide it or only show it to people in your connections.?

Here’s how.

Step 1

Click Visibility on the Settings page and select Who can see or download your email address.

Step 2

Select Only visible to me, 1st degree connections, or 1st and 2nd degree connections.

You made it to the end!

That was quite a lot to get through. But trust me, your future self will thank you for it.?

Don’t forget to share this article with your family, friends, colleagues, or anyone who has a LinkedIn account. They’ll be glad you did.

Yes, I use two emails. First email was my student time email but later on when I started freelance business I changed my email address on Linkedin.
