How to connect and configure the server and switch

Many friends may have a question, the #switch port has an optical port, but the #server does not have a corresponding optical port, so how do we #connect the #switch and the server? This article (Skyward telecom) will tell you about it.

In fact, the server and the switch cannot be directly connected. We need to insert a NIC optical fiber network card into the PCI-E interface of the server, and the corresponding port type will be configured on the optical fiber network card. For example, to connect a 10G 10G switch to a server, we need to select a 10G NIC fiber network card, insert the fiber network card into the PCI-E interface of the server, then insert a 10G optical module into the fiber network card and the switch, and finally use fiber jumpers to connect the The optical module can complete the connection between the switch and the server. Next, explain the steps of configuration:

One. Configure the switch

1. Create Eth-Trunk10 on SwitchA and configure it in LACP mode;

2. Configure the member interfaces on SwitchA to join Eth-Trunk10.


Two, configure the server

1. Open "Network and Sharing Center" and select "Change Adapter Settings";

2. Right-click on the network card port to be tested, and select "Properties"

3. Select the service program corresponding to the network card, such as Intel here, and click "Configure";

4. Click Group, check "Group this adapter with other adapters", and then click "New Team", rename the new team, and click "OK";

5. After naming the new group, check the required network card port;

6. Select the required group type as "IEEE 802.3ad Dynamic Link Aggregation", and click "Next" to continue to complete the configuration.

Finally, the interconnection between the switch and the server through link aggregation is completed.
