CLEVELAND, Ohio, July 7, 2022 /News/ — Paying for a master’s program has become expensive and may leave some wondering, “How does anyone pay for college, especially a master’s program?”
Inspire Talent News has looked over statistics from the 2020 Survey of Graduate Students and Postdoctorates in Science and Engineering (GSS) to figure out how other students are paying their way through their master’s programs. The study categorized participants into 4 different fields of how students paid for their programs. The information was compiled in descending order based on 5 categories of support.
58.4% paid through self-support; 28.3% had institutions pay for their program; 10.1% had Federal support; 2.6% had Nonfederal Domestic Support (meaning a state, local government, Indian tribe, institution of higher education (IHE), or nonprofit organization that carries out a Federal award as a recipient or subrecipient); 0.6% was paid by Foreign support.
