How not to compromise!

Compromise is overrated in business.
Yeah… I said it. OUT LOUD.
Think about it: there is a time and place for compromise in your business.
There are a whole host of excellent books on negotiation from authors ranging from Dale Carnegie to Jordan Belfort with many excellent authors with them on that list.
I bet you have one or two of those books on your shelf. I know I do.
But that’s not what I am writing about today.
I am here to talk about when compromise is not going to be the thing that gets you to where you want to go.
What do I mean by that?
When most people start their own businesses, they usually have a Big Idea in mind. That’s great. That Big Idea generally centers around them using their great love of something to build a better life for themselves and help make other people’s lives better or easier.
That’s always going to be fantastic.
We begin with such enthusiasm to plan and build this new thing in our lives. It’s wonderful. It’s all adrenaline.
Until we figure out that initially, ALL the jobs and skills and abilities to create, run, and build our businesses have to be done by us.
And this can go on for a while. You may be there now.
That’s OK. It’s part of being a solopreneur in any business.
But then… our businesses begin to grow and in time, we get to add a partner, some staff, and diversify our product line.
That’s a great moment. You know that you know you are really in business then. This machine you built is ready to run on its own.

Until you make a compromise.
No… I did not forget what I was writing about.
Compromise in your business can happen when you choose to not focus on your sweet spot, the thing you have real mastery in.
For whatever reason, you may have chosen to hold onto one of the roles that does not call for or build your skill or talent in the thing you want to do the most.
That choice can really drag your satisfaction and productivity down.
But man… we do a heck of a job of convincing ourselves that we still need to keep doing that thing even though it drains our time and energy for other things we are better able to do.
So today, I am asking you to let go a bit.
What if you found someone to do a function in your business that you know and have done, but found someone who is better at it for your business?
Would you consider bringing them into your world?
Think about it: they can do the thing or things that sap your energy and you get back that time to focus on using and honing your best skills and having a great time while doing it.
Sounds good to me!
Why? Because I love love love digital marketing and if that’s one of the jobs that is not a good fit for you, I can help you with that.
Just leave me the words BIG IDEA in the comments so I can tell you a bit more about what I can do to help you get back to what you do best!
I look forward to hearing from you!
