How the Compare Length Tool Enables High Spec Manufacture

When you’re working with paper templates, the length needs to be measured by hand and calculated in your head. As a process, it’s an unwieldy one. That’s now a thing of the past with the ‘compare length’ tool.

The tool lets users add all the segments on one seam side and then subtract the other side of the seam to compare the total seam length. In addition, the tool can display the total deviation of X and Y co-ordinates, as well as displaying the ratio so you can see how much ease or gathering has been added.

You can even measure along the straight, so it will only measure the shortest distance from the first to the last point.
