How to Communicate Value

How to Communicate Value

If you remember, recently, I offered free website reviews for the first five people to sign up. ??

Well, here’s one of them that happened to be a globally inspired decorations company! ??

All right, I have a few ideas on how to get this brand to communicate better with its customers and deliver value so that it can grow its business. ??

It all starts with their website and a few things they can update, tweak, and modify to get their website to convert better.?

First, when you land on their website, they talk about being in business for over 20 years and having a stellar reputation. All of that is wonderful and commendable, but none does anything to communicate value. ???

So, what does the customer care about? ??

Does the customer necessarily care that they’ve been in business for 20 years? No, probably not.?

The customer probably does care that they have a stellar reputation and find really unique pieces for their homes, so their homes stand out, but none of that is really said.??

I think from the reputation piece, I would really love to see other people talk about what they think of this brand. That might be testimonials or videos of items in their house. Designers might show how these items might fit in someone’s home. ??

They need that social proof piece. Something to show that other people like me think this brand is awesome, so I might want to check it out too.?

The other thing that stuck out to me is that every piece in their shop has a story to tell, but when you click through, most of their pieces lack this and are just listed for sale.??????

For instance, for this outdoor tent, they did a great job by including a video and a fantastic description. This description talks about how this tent was originally used only by monarchies and rulers when they were traveling, and I thought that was a cool backstory.?

My recommendation is if we’re saying these items have a unique story to tell, actually go back through the items and tell those stories. ??

The other piece is that the website has many items to sell. It’s a little hard to navigate, especially if you’re just cruising. ??

Stay tuned for part two for more information. ??

Great point! Using wisely that piece of real estate on your site when customers first land on it is so important...I often see websites that don't give much information that will actually grab customer's attention or tell them why they should buy from them
