How committed is your organization to Responsible AI?
An obvious starting point for any discussion on Responsible AI might be the Responsible AI Institute .
The RAI Institute is a non-profit that among its many initiatives offers the first independent, accredited certification program for Responsible AI. This independently delivered audit looks at a system’s tasks, region of operations, and industry relevant risks and regulations to ensure alignment with responsible AI principles.
The Lincoln Laboratory at MIT is building an open-source toolbox to help researchers more easily design, evaluate, and monitor artificial intelligence (AI) systems. The Responsible AI Toolbox is in active development on Github.
As for big tech, both Google and Microsoft have been maintaining and evolving their stances on Responsible AI and how they approach it in their products.
But if you're integrating Responsible AI into your own process, it's important to understand how mentally taxing this work can be and the shift that it requires in your company's organization. Recent articles from MIT Technology Review and VentureBeat highlight some of the personal and organizational difficulties folks have encountered with their Responsible AI initiatives.
