No-Code VS Low-Code

No-code and low-code?are types of development platforms that you will likely run into as a digital marketer. These are typically platforms that are used for those not familiar with coding or who want a quicker approach to building applications.?Both of these development types involve visual tools and elements rather than writing all the code needed.?

• Low-Code: with low-code, there is some coding required. This platform is better suited for those who have some knowledge of coding and are developing a customized and more complex website, app, etc. Low-code prioritizes speed for developers. We will look at WordPress and?Squarespace.
• No-Code: with no-code, there is no coding required and it is considered a completely “hands-off” platform. This is used by those who have no knowledge of coding and are developing an application that is simple and can be made with pre-built templates. No-code is a self-service option for users. We will look at Pineapple Builder which is a no-code platform.

Codecademy, Squarespace, WordPress, and Pineapple Builder: What Are They and How Do They Work

All of these platforms in one way or another relate to coding and most are in relation to no-code and low-code.?

Codecademy: This is a code-learning platform. They offer many different lessons to become well-versed in certain languages of codes. It is a great resource for starting your code learning journey and features hands-on work not just readings!

Squarespace: This is a website building and hosting platform. Though it may seem like Squarespace is a no-code platform because of its readily available templates, it does offer?code customization?making it low-code. You can also access the underlying code of your site with their?Squarespace Developer Platform.

WordPress: This is also a website-building and hosting platform. Similar to Squarespace, you can use WordPress as a no-code platform but it is low-code with its different?editing features. Compared to Squarespace, WordPress has more?advanced features?available.

Pineapple Builder: This is another website builder but this one is no-code. Most of the website is AI generated so no coding is needed. Since it's AI-powered, it is quick and efficient at building a website in minutes. Aside from the customization the AI provides, you choose from the same templates as everyone else and there isn’t much room for change.?
