Are you preparing for an event and feeling overwhelmed??
This is a common feeling among those who are new to hosting or attending gatherings, but no need to worry! With practice, preparation, and the right attitude, you can easily coast through your event.
I’ve identified 4 suggestions to help improve your event planning experience. I hope you find these useful!?
#1 Start Planning as Soon as Possible.?
This will give you plenty of time to research venues and vendors, coordinate travel arrangements, and send out invitations. Make sure to organize by creating a timeline with due dates for tasks like ordering catering and arranging entertainment. You should also create a budget for your event before making any decisions so that you don’t overspend or come up short on necessary items.
#2 Use Marketing to Maximize Attendance.?
Consider different ways to promote your event, like social media posts, email campaigns, and even create a specific website or web page. Involving influencers or industry leaders to help spread the word about your event will generate more interest and attendance from potential guests.?

#3 Delegate Tasks Among Your Team.?
Leading up to the big day, delegate tasks among your team members so that everything runs smoothly on the day of the event—from setting up décor to greeting guests at the door. On the day of the event itself, take some time beforehand to review any last-minute details, such as catering setup or presentation materials, so that nothing gets overlooked during setup or execution. Throughout the event, be sure someone addresses any needs or issues that arise to ensure attendees enjoy the event.?
#4 Follow Up After Your Event!
Thank anyone who attended and ask them for feedback so you can improve for your next one; this information will be invaluable when planning again! A post-event survey is a great way to gauge how well things went and receive suggestions for future events from those who were there—it may even lead to ideas you wouldn’t have considered before!?
As long as you stay diligent throughout the planning process and ensure that every detail is taken care of ahead of time, coasting through an event should be easy! With proper preparation, organization, and attentive oversight onsite during setup and execution times, implementing a successful event should not be too difficult – no matter what type of gathering it is!

Week long conferences such as Autodesk University are very much like marathons, especially with all the walking from and to hotel rooms, conference rooms, corporate parties, etc. Wearing suitable clothes, from shoes to coats, can make a big difference, too. I often miss having to arrive early and stay late to setup booths and related materials to run demonstrations. Lastly, create, refine, live and thrive using checklists to be used before, during and after the event.
