How close was Derek Jeter?

On Baseball Almanac, I help about ten to twenty people a day, usually via email. Some are simple replies. Some are box score requests. Most of them are people taking time to help me preserve the history of Major League Baseball.

Yesterday, I was asked, "How close was Derek Jeter, my favorite player, to the hits in a World Series record?" For this one, today, I expanded the World Series Career Hitting Records page to include the Top 10 all-time leaders in hits during Fall Classics. I only had the all-time career leader before, but I was able to answer her question by including more data.

Oh, since the page was open in Dreamweaver, I went ahead an expanded (from the single leader to a top ten list as well) at-bats, doubles, hits by a pinch-hitter, home runs, plate appearances, RBIs, runs scored, singles, strikeouts, total bases, triples, and walks at the same time.

So if you are curious about how close he was, or want to know the top ten career leaders in triples, it's now there. Have a different question? Email me. You might get a simple reply. Or, you might help us make a page better today, than it was yesterday.
