How to clean your windows and keep the streak free!
Windows can be a challenge to keep clean- Here are eight tips, tricks and tools to help you clean your windows like a pro
1.Vacuum around your window sills and tracks - before cleaning vacuum your sills, tracks and blinds if you have to remove, dust bugs and spider webs.
2. Use a squeegee - On large windows use a squeegee, hot water and a few drops of dish soap. The soap suspends the dirt in liquid until you can squeegee it off.
3. Clean smudges with an Eyeglass cleaning cloth - This cloth will remove spots on glass with just a spritz of water. Spray water directly on the cloth and wipe to get a crystal clear clean.
4. Use a telescoping microfiber duster on high windows - these windows are usually not that dirty but should be wipe to remove any foggy buildup.
5. Use this trick to Check for Streaks - When cleaning the outside use horizontal motion and use a vertical motion for inside cleaning. Then you will know if it is inside or out.
6.Cloth instead of Newspaper - Newspaper leaves an oily film on the window that helps stop streaking but can leave dark smudges on your white walls and woodwork, Use a microfiber cloth instead.
7.Wipe Down Screens - Screens accumulate a lot of dust over the spring and summer months. don't bother washing just wipe them down with a large looped microfiber cloth. The dry microfibers will extend though the screen and pull off all the dust with a few wipes.
8. Sweep away spider webs - When cleaning exterior windows can use a broom wrapped with a rag to remove dust and cobwebs from the glass. Scrub the windows with the same solution of dish soap previously mentioned to lift the dirt off the windows. Dry with either a squeegee or a microfiber cloth.
