Although we are used to putting dirty things in and getting clean out, the washing machine itself can get dirty and grimy with unpleasant smells and worse those horrid soap scum lines.
How to Clean a Washing Machine
To keep a fresh washing machine, run it on cycle empty now and again, put your detergent in or rinse through clear vinegar, which will eliminate those soap scum residues and any lingering odours. Don't forget to have the temperature at 60 degrees plus.
The draw, we have all seen what happens to the washing machine drawers, they get bits of fabric softner or soap stuck which can quickly turn black, periodically remove the drawer (if you can) and wash in warm soapy water use an old toothbrush on the hard to reach areas. I often put mine in the dishwasher!
Finally, empty the filter, you will be amazed at the bits the filter can collect, emptying it regularly will ensure there is no stagnant dirty water sitting in the pipes, causing bad smells and will ensure your machine runs properly.
