‘How to Choose a Typeface’ Workshop

‘How to Choose a Typeface’ Workshop

Last month we hosted the first of a series of collaborative workshops, first up is with our friends over at Dalton Maag, named ‘How to Choose a Typeface’. We developed the workshop alongside Dalton Maag to help participants make informed decisions on how to choose a typeface, from branding considerations to logistics.

The workshop navigates five modules, each an important step in the decision-making process when choosing a typeface. Each module has a presentation section by Dalton Maag followed by an interactive session with material created by Two Times Elliott

To help participants decide on the correct typeface and its application we developed two fictional brands, both with very different requirements and brand considerations. One, a multinational, conglomerate business; the other an independent, local brand.

Mud: Mud is a modern artisan pottery studio and store specialising in the traditional methods of high quality, handcrafted clay decor.

Milo: Milo is the world’s first carbon-neutral full-service global airline, offering year-round low fares across an extensive global route network, all while re-investing in green energy and re-adjusting their practice in line with the latest fuel-efficient technologies.

The workshop streamed live via zoom from London to over 15 countries and 8 different time zones with people participating from as far afield as Cambodia.

We look forward to welcoming many more guests in next year’s instalments of the workshop and would like to say thank you to everyone who made it a success, especially our partners Dalton Maag.
