How to Choose the Right Slick-Pak
Fritz-Pak’s Slick-Pak is rated the best in the industry. We formulate our Slick-Pak pump primers to ensure maximum protection for your equipment, but we often get asked which of our Slick-Pak products is best for specific jobs. Here is a quick guide to help you make sure you get the right product for your pump.
Slick-Pak Liquid
Slick-Pak liquid offers a moderate viscosity but is ready for use in less than five minutes. This partially hydrated material comes packaged in a three-ounce bottle and can easily be mixed in a bucket or directly inside the hopper. Slick-Pak Liquid is for line pumps and smaller concrete jobs. This primer will create enough viscosity to coat the inside of the line without excess material, which reduces the risk of a plug. Slick-Pak Liquid is best for standard concrete mixes with good flow and fine aggregates.
Slick-Pak Original
The original Slick-Pak is the standard concrete pump primer on the market. It is a high-viscosity priming material that can be mixed directly in the hopper. It takes a bit longer to generate enough viscosity to coat the pipes, but you can still be ready to prime within 10 minutes. Slick-Pak is powerful enough to prime a large boom pump pumping a standard concrete mix.

Slick-Pak II
Slick-Pak II is our most powerful concrete pump primer. It generates a substantial level of viscosity in about the same amount of time it takes for the Slick-Pak original to be ready for priming.?
Slick-Pak II makes a great primer for large boom pumps or when pumping harsh mixes with coarse aggregates. We recommended adding Slick-Pak II directly to the concrete mix for very harsh mixes?to function as a pumping aid. You can use our Slick-Pak II Twin-Pak if you’re pumping a smaller concrete job with a harsh mix. It offers the same great product in smaller doses. So you get just enough primer to get the job done.
