Filter presses and cyclones are often equipped with horizontal slurry pumps. Someone asked if it is possible to use one slurry pump to feed two cyclones. The answer is yes. So how to choose the correct model of the slurry pump?

First of all, we need to confirm the size of the cyclone being fed. Here I take model 500 as an example. How big should the pump capacity be for two model 500 cyclones? We generally use 500*0.3, and the obtained data is the processing capacity required by one cyclone. Then it should be 500*0.3*2 for two cyclones, and the obtained data is the required capacity of the slurry pump. The second is to confirm its head. The head is generally the height difference from the pump to the cyclone plus an inlet pressure required by the cyclone itself. Generally, the inlet pressure of the cyclone is about 2 kg, and combined with the height difference, the head should be between 20-25 meters.

From the calculated capacity and head, we can determine the model of the slurry pump and the power of the motor.
