How to Choose Between Jobs

We've all been there. Many months into a grueling job search, you can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. You've got at least one offer on the table, and perhaps even a few more in the works.
Now you have a new problem: how to decide between offers and/or feel confident with the one you accept. Ever been here?
This is a topic that comes up with my corporate clients a lot (so much so that we have a full training on it in my signature job search program, Find Your Job Joy). And while it's a great problem to have, it can still create a lot pressure to make the "right" choice.
That's why I was thrilled to share my thoughts on the topic for a recent article in Real Simple magazine - all about how to compare and choose between job offers, especially as job seekers and employers alike navigate the new job market post last year's #GreatResignation
A few key takeaways + quotes from the piece:
?? Think beyond dollars - evaluate the complete package: salary, bonuses, pto, flexibility, education reimbursement, room for growth, and more…

"When it comes to evaluating—and ultimately choosing between—jobs, it's important to understand the complete package, financial and otherwise," says career coach?Kristen Zavo. "The best way to ensure that the job is the best decision financially is to do the work?before?getting the offer."
??♀? Understand the benefits - insurance, 401K, bonuses, stipends for things like gym memberships, work cell phones, commuter expense reimbursement.
?? Evaluate the costs of the job - financial and otherwise (time, energy, alignment, opportunity cost, etc.)
"Consider the costs associated with any particular job that might not be readily apparent," says Zavo. "For example, the financial load between two comparable roles—one that is remote and one that requires in-office time—can be wildly different when factoring in commute, lunches out, clothes, and even the cost of the time it takes to get ready and drive back and forth."
