How to Choose Axle Scale
Definition of Axle Scale
Portable axle scale is a vehicle weighing equipment that weighs the weight of single axle and accumulates the weight of whole vehicle axle group. According to the relationship between the change and the conversion of voltage, we can know the weight of the vehicle, so as to complete the measurement task. The portable axle scale is also known as portable weighbridge, portable automobile weighing instrument, portable wheel load meter, wheel load meter and overload checking meter. It is widely used in municipal engineering, building materials, storage and transportation, mining, wharf and other material trade settlement and highway traffic management. The basic foundation construction is simple, and it can be used for non-stop weighing and axle stop accumulation weighing.
Accuracy of Axle Scale
There are two kinds of portable axle scale: static and dynamic. Generally, the accuracy of portable axle scale is not high. Axle scale——The dynamic accuracy is about 1/100 (under a constant speed of 5 km/h), the static accuracy is 1/500, and the number of axes is unlimited. The weighing pad is made of high-strength aluminum alloy,and the external surface is treated with aluminum oxidation to resist corrosion.
The Difference of Wire?Axle Scale and Wireless Axle Scale
There are two types of portable axle scales: wire?portable axle scale and wireless portable axle scales.
Wire?portable axle scale:
Wire?axle scale is a measuring equipment that separately measures the axle (axle group) weight of the vehicle through the weighing module (weighing pad), and then obtains the total vehicle weight (total weight) through accumulation. The first one that was widely used was wire one, but in the process of use, it exposed the characteristic that the wire?was easily broken, so it was gradually replaced by the wireless portable axle.

Standard wire?length: 10m/piece, if customers have special needs, they can be provided according to their needs;
Wireless portable axle scale:
The wireless axle scale is a measuring equipment that separately measures the axle (axle group) weight of the vehicle through the weighing module (weighing pad), and then obtains the total vehicle weight (total weight) through accumulation. On the basis of?wire?axle scale, the wireless axle scale is modified to install a wireless signal transmission device to realize the wireless transmission of measurement data and display it directly on the display, which is the choice of most super-controlling units.

How Many Pcs Weighing Pad We Should Choose?
There are two general methods:
The first choose:
One indicator with two weighing pads:
Wire?Axle Scale???????????????????????????????????Wireless Axle Scale
The advantage of this weighing method is that it is labor-saving and low cost. No matter what type of vehicle and how many axles are, two weighing plates can be easily solved;
The second choose: one indicator with n weighing pads (n represents how many wheels the vehicle has,how many pads we choose); It’s only static weighing in this way;
There are two weighing methods: static weighing and dynamic weighing
Static weighing:
Static weighing means that when the wheel passes the weighing pad, it needs to stop for a while before passing;
Dynamic weighing:
Dynamic weighing means that when the wheel passes through the axle load meter board, there is no need to stop, only the vehicle speed should be below 5km/h, and passes through the weighing pad at a constant speed. Compared with other weighing methods, the disadvantage of this dynamic weighing method is that the error is larger. It is suitable for road transportation load control, highway law enforcement inspection, traffic police road administration inspection and overload control Logistics.

Weighing signal is divided into wired weighing and wireless weighing:
To distinguish from the weighing signal transmission method, the transmission method is usually divided into two types: wired transmission and wireless transmission:
Wired transmission:
Wired transmission is to use shielded cable to transmit the signal of the axle load meter to the instrument. This form of signal is stable and not easy to be interfered, but it is easily affected by the length of the wire, and it will also be troubled by the wire pulling;
Wireless transmission:
Wireless transmission is to install a set of receiving and transmitting system to transmit the load cell?to the instrument through radio signals. This form of installation is simple, but the signal is easily interfered in the harsh environment or in the case of a strong magnetic field; the current wireless distance: wireless in an open area Distance of 100~300m;
How to choose an axle scale when there are multiple axles and the axles of the rear axles of the vehicle?are very close:
When there are multiple axes and several axes are very close, it is difficult to choose.
The following two types are recommended:
The first?type: wireless dynamic weighing (two pads + one dynamic wireless instrument)
Advantages: convenient and trouble-free;
Disadvantages: the accuracy is not too high, the accuracy of this kind of weighing is generally about 1/100.
The second type:
Multi-pad?mode is adopted, that is, a?weighing pad?is placed under each wheel;
Advantages: higher relative accuracy;?about 1/500
Disadvantages: too many pads are inconvenient to carry, and the cost will be relatively higher due to more?pads;
Note:
Why can't we use ordinary static weighing? Because the pad?is too close to the pad, the rear wheel is on the pad?before the front wheel is off the pad;
Calculation of total capacity of axle scale:
1: The total capacity of the axle scale:
The total capacity of a set of axle scale = the capacity of?a single weighing?pad * N (the number of wheels);
2: How to choose the capacity of the axle weighing pad
The total capacity when the vehicle is fully loaded*60%~70% (approximately)/total number of wheels=approximate number of capacity of the single pad;
(Of course, when choosing the capacity, take a pad with a similar capacity, because you don’t need to customize it. For example, if you calculate 4.65 tons according to the above formula, just choose 5 tons. There is one more thing to note. The capacity can only be larger than the calculated capacity, because the vehicle itself will have inertia, etc.)
