How ChatGPT can become the ultimate social network focused on hyper-productivity

Working on a concept where finally the generative AI-powered chatbots can connect one human to another depending on their needs, in real time. The data that these large language models were trained on were produced by humans. So it goes without saying such LLMs (ChatGPT, Claude, Bard) should serve humankind in every possible way, creating opportunities for everyone by enabling each of us to collaborate with the other.

Imagine if you reach a point in a conversation with ChatGPT where the value addition becomes 10X if you were chatting with a real human capable of addressing your needs or queries. A use case is illustrated in the attached UI screens.

I am calling it ‘Hum’, short for human. It is also Hindi for We or Us, all of Us, Humankind. When you enable and set Hum to ‘Auto’ mode in ChatGPT or your favorite chatbot, the chatbot determines when a real human with relevant knowledge/experience will be more helpful to a user and proposes the most relevant individuals or business entities that have opted to be part of the program instantly. It takes into consideration multiple signals like proximity, past interaction ratings, and social media standings. You can start to chat with multiple relevant people and get your queries answered and needs addressed.

This rating system is going to be instrumental in incentivizing faster and more high-quality replies and civic behavior. The faster you respond to someone's requests, the quicker you get your queries responded to by other relevant users. And upon concluding the conversation, both (the supply and demand sides) can rate the chat which plays a key role in determining the reliability of users and becomes a part of the matching algorithm.

There are countless use cases, starting from knowledge exchange between the supply and demand side, each of them sitting on different continents, to the exchange of physical products and services locally, let’s say in a 10 or 50 km radius. I am of the conviction that users from every walk of life will be positively affected by the tool. In the upcoming versions perhaps machine-powered translation can be integrated to address the language barrier, if, in a particular use case, that stood as a hindrance between two parties.

That is not to say this tool will not have its own set of challenges. The primary one being quality control. Vetting users, ensuring and enforcing strict adherence to community guidelines, and discouraging bad actors from disrupting users’ experience will be the most pressing and critical challenges. Which can be solved effectively using the methods I will be talking about in my upcoming posts.

How will it affect tech startups and help teams in customer acquisition? Well, customer acquisition can now happen beyond ad-spend on search engines and social networks.

Now I need your opinion to decide what could be the trajectory or future of this product.

As you can see from the above table there are multiple ways the tool could be made available to the public. But the way this feature becomes widely accessible to the maximum number of users if OpenAI decides to build this into the default (free) version of ChatGPT. The same goes for Bard or Claude.

The other way, build this into a standalone mobile app.

But the love ChatGPT has received globally making it one of the fastest-growing platforms ever compels me to think that the best way forward is for OpenAI to adopt this tool and approach. What do you think?

Version 2 of the application can even allow supply sides to maintain a product or catalog (eg WhatsApp Business). The case studies, user flows, UI/UX screens will be shared shortly.

When the Auto-Hum mode is enabled the right results appear just at the right time to connect you to the right person.

Perhaps this tool, to a certain extent, answers every internet user's question - 'what is in it for me?' or 'how will this AI improve my life?'. If ChatGPT now had made you 2x productive, with 'Hum' it should jump to 10x.

Needless to say, willing participants will have to manually provide data during the signup process that will make the system aware of their expertise and experience, the products or services they are offering or their likes and interests.

Imagine if the utility of?OpenAI's ChatGPT,?Anthropic's #Claude, or?Google's?#Bard?could go beyond drafting emails, helping with thought experiments, solving math problems, and so on. If they can actually generate income, support the livelihood of every member of society (regardless of their tech proficiency), promote entrepreneurship, empower creators, enable homepreneurs, encourage human-to-human collaboration, help create new verticals of business and bring about true human-AI collaboration. At a time when mass job loss speculations are rampant due to AI, Hum could in fact do the opposite and create more jobs.

Hum intends to achieve that.
