How Charlie's Business Donated $41,000 (and counting...)

So, I got a call. It was from Charlie. Charlie has a business and has been with us for just over 5 years. The issue is that his charity of choice wasn't the best at keeping him up to date on what his donations have been.

So, he called in and got me.

I know Charlie and had spoken to him before. How could I help him? Oh, what were his donations to date? Well, hold the line just a minute, good sir. I will look that up. Well, since he used Sharing the Credit for his merchant services, he had donated in excess of $41k. That's when there was a whole kerfuffle.

Yeah, you didn't know I was going to pop in some Scottish word, did you?

Charlie? Are you alright? Yes, he had just started to drop the phone. Is all well? Turns out old Charlie wasn't prepared to hear $41k. Well? What did he think he had given?

"I don't know, son (he is older than me), maybe 3 or 4 thousand?!"

That's when I said that he had a good business AND he had been with us for just over 5 years. He averaged about $8,000 a year. Steadily.

We got him a plaque. We also strongly encourage our charities to recognize and reward such generosity quarterly, and especially annually. Think of all the businesses Charlie would have been telling over that period of time, if they had been telling him of his fruits and contributions.

Give. Be Light and Salt to the world. But also, be thankful. We need more Charlie's.
