Personal Growth is a big subject that's talked about by A LOT of people!
Celebrities, pro athletes, comedians, entertainers, self-help gurus, talk show hosts, and even preachers are all jumping on the personal development bandwagon.
But what is really at the core of this message?
Is Personal Growth really as everyone says it is? And more specifically, does it have to be so boring?
From my own experience and practicing a ton of personal development materials, I want to break down the goods and the BS on personal growth so you can truly transform your life and enjoy the process.
If you want a shortcut into making powerful life transformations and have fun at the same time, read this awesome book (for free )!
Let's get to it!
Inside The Story You're Telling & Experiencing
When you get to the root of personal growth, it's a story. You get to decide what story you're telling yourself, and what story you're living.
It's really that simple. It's self-concept. Wait, what does that mean?
It's the story you belief about who you are, who other people are, who/what GOD is, and how the world/life works.
The only person to develop is yourself because only you have access to the prime operating system that controls your life: your subconscious mind. That's where your self-concept has been coded since you were a small child.
So how do you re-code or re-program this hidden part of yourself?
You commit to writing a different kind of story and begin a new journey into changing yourself from the inside.
Mastering Yourself By Exploring Your Inner World
One of the best ways to explore your inner world, discover the stories that your subconscious mind has created, and rewrite the code is to become aware of your thoughts.
It's like going from being an actor in a movie to an audience member watching in a theater.
This is a practice and a process. It does take time. But shifting from being someone who reacts to what's going on into someone who observes everything and pauses before responding is one of the most powerful ways to take control of your journey.
Are you a reactive person or someone who responds thoughtfully?
The difference is important.
You shift your energy when you stop being reactive to other people and circumstances. You foster peace within. It's very noticeable. You'll feel it in your mind and body.
And other people will notice it too.

Adaptability: Be Like Water
One of Bruce Lee's most iconic teachings was to "be like water." Water is adaptable, taking the shape of its container. In self-improvement, adaptability is key.
Embrace change, just as water adapts to various forms. "You must be shapeless, formless, like water. When you pour water in a cup, it becomes the cup."
How adaptable to situations are you?
Adaptability is a quick way to change your life. You shift from being reactionary into being more fluid.
You're able to see situations and circumstances more clearly and pause for a moment to ascertain your next best step. Handling people and situations from this perspective and methodology makes you a more balanced leader.
You become more trusted by your team and able to handle high-pressure situations with grace and poise.
Man...Personal Development Sounds Really Serious
Here's the thing that none of the big Personal Growth people talk about.
It's not all serious. Or at least it doesn't have to be.
It's also like finding the funniest joke in the world, except it's about you.
Can you laugh at your own mistakes every now and again?
Have you ever seen those 'before and after' pictures? Personal development is that 'before' picture, and it's your job to turn it into the 'after.'
And yes, you will stumble along the way, but guess what? That's where the real punchline is.
Be adaptable and laugh it off because if you can't laugh at yourself in this journey, you're missing out on some of the best comedy there is.
This is a quick start and there's more to help you
As a highly sensitive person, it's easy to get bogged down in all the growth tactics and techniques while also feeling like I'm not doing enough to change my life.
Perfectionism kicks into high gear too. Can you relate to that?
These are some of the things I've learned along the way. And they're what I continue to grow in.
I am someone who wants to enjoy the process and have fun along the way.
