How to change our world in 3 simple steps?

“The limit is not the sky. The limit is the mind.”
What detours are we avoiding?
Why does our logic blindside us?
Which treasures will we take to our graves?
I am always thinking about it every day. I am doing so many things. I am always asking myself the same question:
Does it really matter?
I am on a journey to change the world. No, that is not true. I am on a journey to change my world. The more I think about it, the more I see the mountain of resistance.
Where do I start?
I am always trying to build a plan. Looking back, I am not good at making plans when I think about it. Even if I love to convince myself that I am planning everything, I am most of the time at destiny's mercy.
Am I really in charge?
I have been looking for a framework to grasp the mechanism of changing my world for so long.
When I was younger, I was bolder and more naive. I always thought that I could change the adults around me. I believed that if I played by the rules, I would win.
Little did I know that the rules were here just to keep the game of life going. There are no winners or losers.
As I am getting older (wiser?) I feel like I am more conscious about what is in my control and what is not.
I am learning that the more I know, the more my circle of knowledge grows. It comes with a paradox. The more the circle grows, the more I am in contact with more unknown things.
I still believe there's a way to apply a method to find logic in the chaos of our universe. I still think we all can change the world, more precisely, our world.
After many explorations, I found that the three steps below are an excellent start. Welcome to the DIY framework to change our destiny:
We all are familiar with the definition below of DIY:?
“Do it yourself" ("DIY") is the method of building, modifying, or repairing things by oneself without the direct aid of professionals or certified experts. Academic research has described DIY as behaviors where "individuals use raw and semi-raw materials and parts to produce, transform, or reconstruct material possessions, including those drawn from the natural environment (e.g., landscaping)."

We will explore another instantiation of the DIY method in this article.
1. DETOUR as DELIGHT IN DETOUR - We all have a plan until we get punched in the face. I am paraphrasing Mike Tyson here. As we grow up, we create our worldview with a set of rules.
We grow up believing that our worldview is THE world others view. We have a life prepared for us by our parents, friends, family, employers, and society in general.
We often feel overwhelmed when things do not go as we planned them. We stumble and fall. And we punch ourselves in the face. We beat ourselves up.?
Most of us take “No” for an answer but not in the best way. We must use “No” as “Next opportunity.”?
We should not feel rejected whenever we fail to get that promotion or a corner office.?
We must take that as a redirection. We must trust that we might have our best intentions in mind. But the universe is the one who delivers. We must reframe rejection as redirection.?

Most of the great inventions in life have been the results of redirections. If we look closely and connect the dots backward, we can see that we are where we are today, not only because of our blueprint.
We are where we are mainly thanks to meeting new people, going into new places, failing, and learning from our failures.
We must be thankful and delighted by the detours that put us on track for our destiny. We must not be stubborn when the universe tries to tell us something. We need to use our two ears to listen more, our two eyes to observe the evidence before us.
Only then can we appreciate the magic of the universe's symphony: the order in the chaos for each of us through customized detours.
2. ILLOGICAL as BEING ILLOGICAL - Insanity is trying to do the same thing and expecting different results. Again, I am paraphrasing another great mind, Albert Einstein.?
We are creatures of habit. The most populated country in the world is not China or Facebook.
The most populated country in our world is invisible to us. It is a country within our minds. And that country is our comfort zone.
We are billions of people born in that country. Most of us will spend our whole life in that country. And billions of people have already died in that country.
Great minds have used logic to solve the most complex mathematical problems in our life.?Logic is what brought capitalism to the pinnacle of our current civilization.?
Today we face climate change; we are on the brink of no return. Yet, we are exploiting our resources as if they were infinite.?
In our corporations, we are trying to hold on to what brought us here. We are using our logical results to solve a problem that needs something beyond what we know today. We are surprised we are not finding new solutions to solve our issues.
The only way to discover uncharted territories is to go against the common logical path. Instead, we need new approaches beyond what we know today if we want to find innovative solutions to tackle climate change, to create a more inclusive and sustainable world for the decades to come.
We should not be prisoners of our logic because we build our logic based on our limited capacity, limited knowledge of what is possible, and our limited worldview.
We must embrace illogical ways of thinking different from the status quo. Only then can we hope to end up in new universes of possibilities beyond what we believe is an unsolvable problem today.
3. YOU as USING YOUR OWN THING - The wealthiest place on earth are the cemeteries. Yes, I am paraphrasing Les Brown. Indeed we all will die with our unfulfilled potential. All those ghosts of what we could have been will come to haunt us on our deathbed.
They will be yelling: “Why did you not listen to me?”, “Why did you ignore me and bury me alive?” “We could have changed the world if you just dared to be you.”
We are all part of the universe. We all are fragments of the universe at scale. We all have and must use that one thing that makes us unique.
The universe uses chaos and uncertainty to give each of us a unique combination of genetics, epigenetics, and life experience.
We all have that one thing that can make us unique. Unfortunately, as we grow older, most of us disconnect from our light as we try to blend in with the darkness of the masses.
We lose that magic hand and spend most of our lives searching for the meaning of life.
From the janitor to POTUS, we all have a role to play. From the West Indies to West Africa, from the Arctic to Antarctica, from the first to the last of us, we all have that gift of life.?
We must do our best to find that magic uniqueness and own it. We must embrace it and use it for good.?
We must not exchange what makes us unique with the flashes of life before life flashes before our eyes. Our uniqueness is our goddess. Without it, we are powerless to change not only our world but also the world of our loved ones, our friends and family, and beyond.
There we have it. The DIY (Detour, Illogical, You) framework is simple and, if acted upon (Do It Yourself!), will be a great start to change our world from within.?
