I love to compare marketing to surfing. There seems to be a wave (a trend), and everyone rushes to catch it, but only a few can stay on top. Why? Because it’s not enough to just know what’s popular right now. It’s important to understand:

  • Which wave suits you – Not every trend works for your audience. Chasing hype without strategic analysis can lead you astray.
  • How to get on it properly – Good marketing is not just about flashy creatives, but also about a well-thought-out user journey (funnel), effective targeting, and clear KPIs.
  • When to step off and catch a new wave – Even the hottest trends have a lifespan. It’s important to switch gears at the right time, test hypotheses, and not be afraid to change your strategy.
