How to catch a ball in fading light

A series of photographs taken by emerging photographer Bess Morrow to illustrate the speed and timing of her dear friend Jojo, formed into a pictorial essay by dad (with alt text added we hope?) Jojo can still out-pace his dearest companion Bella who is much less than half his age (and not that interested in balls).

a poodle and a bedlington set off chasing a ball
the poodle is fast and keen the bedlington is left behind jojo speeds off stage right ball out of sight
mojo the poodle keeps his eye on the ball (out of shot) in the air as he runs
jojo is so fast he can overtake the ball in the air, he turns to work out where it is going to land
in this picture the ball has been hi-lighted to show the ball entering the frame
the poodle will wait for one bounce if the ball is coming from behind him over his shoulder
mojo the poodle takes the ball cleanly out of the air after one bounce into the setting sun and stops to turn
As the poodle turns he glances across to the photographer for approval and receives approval

Jojo returns the ball to the person (dad) who was doing his best to make the ball land in the right place time after time. The photographer turns to catch the very large yellow ball which is now exactly where she (the photographer) wanted it.

Sunset at Fairhaven with people silhouetted against the sky on the new tidal defence wall last week.

Dad recons Bella the Bedlington seems to be able to run faster after seagulls on the beach than Jojo does on firm ground. On the other hand Bella has never caught a thing in her life.

The photographer has already moved onto the next (coming soon) project.
