How to care for your dining table.

Once you have taken time to pick out the perfect dining table for you it is important that to make the product looks amazing for as long as possible, so it is important it's not miss treated. This means caring for it so it can look new for as long as possible. Here are our top tips on how to keep your table looking brand new.

Try to keep the table dust free as much as possible. Don’t let the table sit there gathering dust and become dirty. It is better to give it a wipe down with a dry cloth once a day to ensure all of the dust cant settle, if a table is not in use. This may be an obvious one but try to remove spills as quick as possible. This helps prevent stains as no one wants to have a table tarnished by food or cup stains.? By doing this especially with wood it doesn’t allow the liquid or potential stain by seeping into the wood, the same goes for laminate top as you don’t want to allow it to sit to create a stain.

We all love having a hot plate when served our food but we need to be considerate about the table tops, to ensure it isn’t damaging the top layer. Where this step is often a precaution we want to ensure that the plates aren’t too warm that they are creating damage this is one tip to just keep an eye on.

Our key tip is stay away from harsh chemicals! We cannot say this enough. Have you ever been sat at a table that feels sticky? The likelihood that it is down to surface cleaners being used. The best product to use is slightly soapy warm water or just warm water on its own. This helps not strip back the varnish on the top and allows it not to become tacky in texture.? It takes the same amount of time as using surface cleaner. Trust us your tables and customers will both thank you.

Don’t be afraid to touch up you tables if they need it! If you think the table has got a few scratches from wear and tear, or that its starting to look a little bit dull a lick of varnish might be all it needs. This is a good money saving tip and it just takes a little bit of patience and time. By adding some varnish if suitable for your table can give it a new life and allow it to look brand new again.
