We see, every day, the cases of COVID-19 are increasing. COVID-19 has been a significant shock or the disruption in our lives, leaving everything scattered. The government announced a nationwide lockdown forcing all offices, institutes to shut down, which had a significant impact on the businesses. The fashion industry was one of the notable effects. People were panic buying only necessity items, clothes, fashion was hence considered as secondary.
Now, though the government has given relaxations, "Unlock India mission" is on the move, but then also there is a constant fear in the minds of the customers. Companies are laying off their many talented employees because of the immediate shutdown of business, hence no source of income for them.
Today, a lot of fashion graduates and professionals face career crises like never before in the history of the Fashion Industry. Clothing, accessories, and other related products were considered a necessity, so how people would buy other essentials would allocate a budget for clothing and accessories too.?
However, with issues around sustainability and on top of this COVID 19 effect, the demand will be hugely dropped across the globe that means lesser production. It is estimated that the world will have 50% less demand for these products than before.?
This means at least 50% fewer opportunities than before. We have not yet factored in automation that will also take away a few more chances and add newer paroles. If you are facing a pay cut or a job loss due to the Pandemic crisis, it can be frustrating and draining, as it's tough to survive on a lower salary/job loss. Applying for positions the old way will not work. Companies will have stringent hiring policies, and they are expecting teams to be proactive, self-motivated, engaged, and deliver high productivity and efficiency as they want to reduce their costs. This is impossible to achieve as an outcome by just trying like you would have done earlier.?

Define how you want to help: Take the initiative!?Give suggestions that would help the business grow. Be creative! No one wants to hire you to give a job. They engage you to solve their problems by being proactive and giving your valuable insights.
Build a network: Creating a secure network and engaging with them is a must. The network is your Networth. Building a strong network provides you with the right opportunities as most people are hired based on word of mouth referrals. Connecting with the right people is a must!
