How can you be satisfied with your children & career?

Welcome back PostdocTransformer,

after our season break and to kick-off season 5, I am happy to return into your earbuds!

As an interview centered show, I plan only 1-3 episodes as solos, so I have to choose my own topics wisely and to be most evergreen.

To give the second episode and our next guest a warm audience, I chose to reiterate and expand the career and family theme of our show, which is applicable for everyone in my audience, regardless of the educational degree, sooner or later.

Do you want to achieve satisfaction while juggling career and family responsibilities? In this episode of our PostdocTransformation show, you will get a deep dive into practical tools and strategies for your career planning, resources management, and the importance of having a supportive partner.

You will understand the significance of personal and professional networks, technological resources, and organizational strategies in maintaining a balance between work and home life.

You will reflect on your socialization, be encouraged to find new role models, and to use personal resources effectively.

We just reached 7 k with our previous 50 episodes, half of them are interviews with leaders in science and mostly business, and we want to thank you for listening. I am building my own legacy as a professor by bringing diverse role models to your table, so you can be inspired as you deserve.

The demands and the resilience of your child or even children and your career to be juggled as rubber or glass balls will vary and change over time. There are sensitive time windows with peak demands And by the way, you and your partner are potentially both juggling your kids.

[00:06:30] And it is really only fair and future proof to discuss both partners willingness to juggle alongside.

??

[00:06:39] Even if you plan a lot, maybe your plan is perfect in theory. In reality, it will hit you definitely. The good news is, it's a temporary stage in your life. You can choose to control and improve your situation at certain turning points If you have high demand job skills, and here's my plug to listen to episodes 4, 22, 43, and 45, which are all centered around the demands in the future of work.

[00:07:13] There will be times when all you can do is really seeding, but if so, realizing that you are in the seeding stage and being determined that you will be able to reap is already helpful in times when you just have the feeling of losing control.

[00:07:29] And believe me, those high and low feelings will come. So be ready to give yourself time to reevaluate this question on a regular basis so you can upswing again.?

[00:33:50] When you start a job right after your bachelor or master degree. And for tips on future proof industries, please listen to episode four and 22. Number two, it's the network, the hierarchy. Okay. The more resilient the personal and professional network, the sooner and faster a plan B alternatively C, D and E, et cetera, can be called upon in an emergency.

[00:34:17] But remember. You have to build your safety net before you fall. The higher the hierarchy in your job, the easier it is to organize your everyday work schedule to your own advantage.

[00:34:33] But if you are in a greedy job with high stakes, it's also not easy to let go.
