9 个月MTI is here to stay, though many people are smart learners and put in efforts to improve their accents as per the requirement. Well, the dialect of a language changes from region to region and country to country. Do the Americans, Britishers and Australians speak the same English? No. The basic language remains the same as far as grammar and syntax are concerned but not the pronunciation part. Even the dictionaries provide two or three ways to pronounce a particular word correctly. It is disturbing to listen to grammatically wrong English compared to the mother-tongue-influenced one. But, for BPO workers, accent trainers, and other such people, divorcing the touch of their regional or national language while holding a conversation in English is a must. It's always a good idea to speak a language in the purest of its forms, and it is possible to do that for many a non-native speaker.

10 个月While one's mother tongue is definitely going to influence how and what they think in their minds, I think spreading awareness on being kind to individuals who demonstrate this in their speech is equally important. In the end, we speak to be understood, not necessarily to speak like a native. Empathy and kindness would take English learning a long way.
