How can you help your customers buy from you?

Sitting in bed on a lazy Sunday morning scrolling through Facebook, I see a post in one of my business groups announcing the launch of their website, and saying that they had food items in stock that I’ve just not been able to find during lockdown. I excitedly hit the link button to indeed find a very nicely designed website, but only logos for the products I wanted to purchase. When I clicked through to the product there was no photo and, being of an age that I still don’t work coherently with metric, I couldn’t visualise the size of the product.

Being helpful, I commented that I could help them finish their website with my mail order food service. They replied that they could do this themselves with their own home set up, but just didn’t have the time.

I sat and pondered this to reflect on what I haven’t had time to do in my business that I’m not a specialist in, and what services I will now consider buying instead of trying to cut corners doing it myself.

Don’t underestimate the value of good photography in your business. Had there been product photos on their website, I would now be sat at the checkout on their website, with my credit card in hand, instead of writing this post.

What will you be doing differently in your business after lockdown?
