How can you help the passionate people working in tours & activities NOW?

As you know, travel businesses and employers are suffering right now. Like many of us, I enjoy traveling and have shared (and bragged shamelessly) about my travels.
When I had the opportunity to work at FareHarbor, I felt like I HAD to take it. I understood that not only the culture of this company was a fit, but also they worked with and for amazing tours and activities businesses. Now what we tend to forget is that behind those businesses are PASSIONATE PEOPLE. Our jobs at FareHarbor are all about those passionate people: our clients. We call them, we write to them, we meet them, we care about them. You think I am all cheesy? Well, you should know I always am. But I am also telling the truth.
Nothing makes me happier than going to work and find out how kind and passionate one of our clients is. Especially when they are close to home like Bateaux SOLIS Mettensis, in Metz near my hometown.
You don’t go into this business by accident. You do it because you love it. During my travels, I met so many driven people.
Like Jalal, in Iran - who always had a smile, the best stories and was committed to showing me that Iran is a beautiful country worth visiting. I remember his kindness, his love for literature, and the fact that he did everything he could for me to experience Iranian mountains. I hadn’t skied in 15 years and I sucked at it, but he was very patient with me and never made fun of me (which was hard to do based on my ridiculous skiing skills).
Like Yannick who sat with me in a hostel near Ruhengeri in Rwanda, sharing how he loved biking and decided to make a business out of it. We went on a breathtaking bike tour to visit the Twin Lakes. My butt never hurt that much after a bike ride, but it was worth it and I had banana beer as a well-deserved treat as a reward.
Like Hymeir who welcomed me and my friend Corentine in the Ulu Muda Jungle. He showed us the beauty of this corner of Malaysia and how important it is to protect it. It felt like a once in a lifetime experience. Also, that man taught me how to remove leeches from my legs (and I am scared to death by any form of insects or worms). Now, thanks to him, even if there is a big spider in my bedroom, I just leave that beautiful creature be.
And then, there is Mo (the kindest soul I am so happy to call my friend) and Zidane. Who gave me my beautiful Desert name (it is Mastouleh, if you ever wondered). They made me discover the wonders of the Wadi Rum desert in Jordan. I will never forget sleeping under the most beautiful sky, by a fire and listening to Marcel Khalife’s song Rita. It is one of my favorite songs now, because it brings me back right in the desert.
These are the people working for us and who are committed to making us live incredible moments.
To help the passionate people we work with and for, we at FareHarbor developed the #iwilltravelagain initiative. On this site, you can purchase a gift card to experience activities that make your travel, an unforgettable experience.
I will travel again. Not far though for the first one - when this is over, I will simply go back home to hug my parents and sister in my hometown, near Metz. And we are going to enjoy an amazing boat tour with Bateaux SOLIS Mettensis.
Through this initiative or any other way, please support everyone who is making your travels an incredible adventure (and make your travel pictures look so damn good on Facebook and Instagram).
So where are you going to travel again?
