How Can You Find an SEO Content Writer or a Ghost Writer?

I’ve been thinking, as someone who offers ghostwriting services and is in the early days of establishing myself, how do I get clients? I’ve been cold pitching to up to 100 different clients a day. However, I wonder, there are people looking for ghostwriters?—?how can they find ghostwriters directly without going through sites like Fiverr and Upwork? Don’t get me wrong, these sites are good, but the competition can be overwhelming for someone just starting out. If not everyone is looking for work on Upwork and Fiverr, then I believe not everyone is looking for service providers there either. So, how else can someone locate a ghostwriter and work with them in a more personalized way?

How can you locate a ghost writer through their work and get a taste of what they can actually cook before making contact??

  1. Search Engines like google: Personalized Blogs?

Most bloggers are ghost writers. If they can write their own niches, they can write for you if you ask nicely. You can interact with their type of writing and decide if that is what you could be looking for, then leave a message for them. Ask to know.?

2. Social Media Platforms

  • LinkedIn: Search for ghostwriters, join relevant groups, and check professional profiles.
  • Twitter and Facebook: Look for individuals whose profiles are optimized as ghostwriters or content writers?
  • Websites. Look at the personal blogs and take a look at the services that they offer.

3. Freelance Marketplaces

  • Fiverr and Upwork: Browse profiles, reviews, and portfolios of ghostwriters.
  • Other Platforms: Check out specialized writing platforms like Reedsy or ProBlogger.

4. Professional Networks and Communities

  • Join forums, online communities, and groups where ghostwriters might be active, such as writer-specific forums or Facebook groups.

5. Referrals and Recommendations

  • Ask for recommendations from colleagues, friends, or professional networks. Check out optimized websites and ask for a referral to their writers if you love their work.?

6. Content Agencies and Marketing Firms

  • Contact content creation agencies or marketing firms that may have ghostwriters on their team or can recommend freelancers.

By using these strategies, you can effectively locate a ghostwriter and establish a personalized working relationship.

How do you establish yourself as a content writer/ ghost writer

Establishing yourself as a ghostwriter and attracting clients directly can be challenging, but there are several effective strategies that have proven to make work easier and you can employ to find clients without relying solely on platforms like Fiverr and Upwork.?

4. Cold Pitching with a Personal?Touch

This has been my favorite. Needs some work but I mean, we do and we learn.?

  • Research: Identify potential clients who might need ghostwriting services, such as bloggers, executives, and authors.
  • Personalize Your Pitch: Tailor each email to the recipient, mentioning specific reasons why you can help them based on their work and needs.

  • Ebooks and Guides: Write and publish ebooks or guides on topics related to writing and content creation. Offer these as free downloads in exchange for email addresses.
  • Email Newsletter: Build an email list and send regular newsletters with valuable content and updates about your services.

7. Ask for Referrals

This has a magic touch to each. If those you’ve worked with love your work, your cup will continuously run full.?

  • Satisfied Clients: Ask your current or past clients for referrals. Word-of-mouth recommendations can be powerful.
  • Networking: Let your friends, family, and professional network know about your services and ask them to refer potential clients to you.

8. Collaborate with Other Professionals

  • Marketing Agencies: Collaborate with marketing agencies that may need content creation services for their clients.

9. Offer Workshops and?Webinars

  • Educational Content: Conduct workshops and webinars on writing-related topics to showcase your expertise and attract potential clients who value your knowledge.

By employing a combination of these strategies, you can build a solid client base and establish a personalized working relationship with those seeking ghostwriting services. Remember, persistence and consistent effort are key to finding and retaining clients in the competitive field of ghostwriting.

Hope this gives you a place to start.?

I am currently focusing on doing content online to establish a brand, cold pitching, collaboration with a digital marketing company doing content writing for their clients and referrals. It is some work but as I said, you learn and you grow. That’s what’s up!
