Such articles also leave the readers with a bad impression of your site. Ideally, try to break the paragraph after three to four lines. 

When breaking the paragraph, make sure you are not leaving the sentence halfway. Often people break the paragraph while a single idea is being discussed. This can confuse the readers and give you a bad reputation. For example, break the paragraph when the point is complete. Write the entire idea in a single paragraph. If you are still talking about the same point, try and continue the paragraph even if it stretches a bit. 

Additionally, keep in mind the concept of line spacing. Do not space it out too far, nor keep it too close. Depending on the type of your content and where it will be published, ideally, single line spacing works the best. 

The specific content formatting depends on the type of article being written, the platform where it will be published, and the audience who will be reading it. Keeping all these factors in mind, you need to find the ideal format that gives your content a professional look. After you are done writing, look at the article as a whole and see where and how it needs to be edited.

Start with a good line.

The first line is your blog’s first impression. Most of your readers decide if they enjoy reading your blog based on the first line of your post, which is why it is crucial to start with a good line. 

A good line should contain a brief synopsis of the article, written in an engaging way. It should give the reader an idea about the content that you will present them with. Try and include an interesting one-liner or a quote to start with to keep things interesting. 

Although keep in mind not to write irrelevant quotes at the beginning, if you decide to start with a famous quote, make sure it fits well with the theme of the article. If you are writing an article about productivity, use quotes that specifically talk about which aspect of productivity you are talking about in your blog post. 

Using vague quotes often comes across as being pretentious. Try not to write something too flowery as it makes your blog appear unprofessional. Stick with something simple yet eye-catching. 

Your intro should also contain reasons as to why the readers should read your blog and how they will benefit from it. Considering the previous example, you can write something like, ‘In this article, you will find amazing tips on how to stay productive during the holidays.’ Make it specific and easy to understand. 

Intros are extremely important for blogs as they are often the deciding factors for everyone that visits your page. The better bio you write, the higher are your chances of getting more readers.

Moreover, a professional site can cost anywhere between $10-$100 or more depending on your domain, web hosting services, paid themes, etc. On the other hand, externally hosted websites are mostly free of cost, but you have to use their domain and abide by their rules. 

You can decide what you want to go for by calculating the costs you can spend based on your current earnings, expected earnings from the blog, and additional expenditure. 


2. Find a Niche 

When writing a personal blog, you need to determine what you are going to write about. You can choose to write about your relationships, your school or college life, your work experiences, or your daily routine.
