How can we create a business not in tension?

I'm trying to work out my thoughts on creating a different kind of company. One that is in harmony with its outside world and within itself. These are rough ideas and I am not editing these thoughts much. More of a stream of consciousness that I'll later clean up.

What is tension?

For me, tension is a feeling that I am swimming up stream. Where what I am doing seems too hard and too messy. This isn't the same as not wanting to work hard...it's not feeling like my hard work and effort is smooth and almost effortless in how it connects with the world.

It's where things are "just clicking".

What is the opposite of tension? It's flow.

I think the opposite of tension is flow. For a business, it's a feeling where your customers are pulling you towards them. Where you are not "selling" them to become your customer. It's the same for people on your team: they are connected with your overall purpose or mission as a business and you are not spending a ton of time coaching them.

Perhaps this comes from being totally focused on doing something of immense value for someone. Maybe it is creating and delivering something you know deep in your soul is improving life for your customers and for your team. This is creating value: to make someone else's life better through your actions.
