How Can Sex Trafficking be Prevented?

Sex trafficking is a modern day scourge and is increasingly becoming a more serious problem throughout the world.

In terms of a definition, sex trafficking can be defined as a type of human trafficking and is also considered to be a form of slavery.

At Child Recovery International, we consider sex trafficking to be a major threat to public health as it can adversely affect the health and wellbeing of not only the victim, but also that of their family, friends and community.

Victims of sex trafficking are usually vulnerable individuals who have been exploited through threats, force, coercion or blackmail in order to force them into commercial sex work or other sexual acts.

The good news is that sex trafficking is preventable. Child Recovery International has worked extensively with the victims and families of sex trafficking and we have been successful in rescuing a large number of individuals who have been forced into sex slavery.

In terms of how sex trafficking works, a person (usually female and young) is groomed and is then forced into commercial sex work, pornography and other sex acts. Children and adults are controlled by violence and heroin. Once they develop the taste of addictive drugs and threats that their family will be harmed or killed is motivation enough for them not to escape their exit to freedom. This is likened to “stockholm syndrome” such as in the case of Patty Hearst .However, this in these cases only a handful accomplish this task. This is the problem and we are the solution.

Many victims fall prey to predators if they are vulnerable, i.e. they are destitute, are addicted to drugs or have been abducted.

A sex trafficking ring normally has a number of individuals working for them against their will. The profits made can be quite lucrative but the victim never gets to see any of this money and is completely controlled by the predators.

CRI is a powerhouse using only the very best proprietary methodologies and behavior to locate a runaway. In Topeka, KS, for example, we have solved the cases of missing girls (Nevada Appeal) using state of the art profiling, investigative methodologies and human behavior. We located and returned to their respective families in just under 24 hours.

We also deploy search and rescue tracking dogs to receive immediate results. We take your case personally because we treat each case as if our own child.
