How can Laser 2000 help with your Two-Photon microscopy needs?

How can Laser 2000 help with your Two-Photon microscopy needs?

Many of our customers are choosing to upgrade their existing or even build their own two photon microscopes. Building or upgrading gives you the flexibility to ensure your system works for your requirements and not the other way around.

Here at Laser 2000 we offer a variety of products which can offer that flexibility and we will work with you to ensure that they meet your needs.

Lasers –

We have a range of femtosecond fibre lasers by SPARK LASERS. We offer fixed wavelengths of 920nm and 1040nm (custom available on request) and powers up to 4W for our ALCOR series.

Available with integrated AOMs for power adjustment and fibre coupling ensures that we have most potential requirements covered. https://www.laser2000.co.uk/product/alcor/ultra-compact-femtosecond-laser-for-biophotonics

See our blog for more information on the benefits of fibre lasers compared to Ti:Sapphire lasers.

If you require more power, the ALTAIR series is available with up to 20W of average power and can be used in combination with our Spatial Light modulators (SLMs) for applications such as multi cell excitation.

Spatial Light Modulators –

SLMs can redirect light to hundreds of focal points with a programmable intensity in a 3D volume. In two-photon microscopes, LC-SLMs enable multisite 3D scan-less excitation for photoactivation, as well as high-speed volumetric imaging to record a volume of circuit activity. For applications like these, Meadowlark Optics is at the cutting edge when providing high resolution, high phase stability, low losses, and high-speed switching

Laser 2000 have a high speed 600nm – 1300nm, 1920x1152 SLM in our demo pool.

See our SLM articles ‘Understanding the jargon of LCOS Spatial Light Modulators (SLMs)’ and ‘Spatial Light Modulator Applications’ for more information.

Stages –

Laser 2000 works with Zaber for our motorised stages. Feedback from users is that they appreciate that we can offer customisable solutions within a quick timescale without breaking the bank, and that the flatness of the stages ensures that the plane of focus remains the same when moving the sample. The stages are very simple and quick to set-up, built in controllers mean you don’t need to worry about matching stages, controller and cables. It is all ready to go out of the box! Software is free and open source, with libraries for most of the common programming languages and control software. https://www.laser2000.co.uk/products/stages-positioners/motorised-stages-positioners

For reference users please get in touch. Laser 2000 have extensive demo stock and would be happy to arrange a demonstration.

Filters –

Semrock (IDEX Health and Science) the pioneer of hard coated filters for Lifesciences have filters specifically designed for two-photon microscopy. An example below is a novel combined 1P and 2P filter.

As well as having ultra-high transmission and carefully optimised blocking, the filters are also designed to have low group delay dispersion (GDD). Therefore, the pulse broadening is kept to a minimum ensuring you have more efficient imaging.
