How can designers, brands and manufacturing align their strength and grow together? We found the answer from our STGG June trip in China.

Design and manufacturing seems like two different dimension that can hardly go together.

Designers strive to uphold their unique value and creativity, while manufacturers focus on perfecting and standardising the production process. However, during our trip in STGG June, our Vietnamese delegation got the workable solution as we immersed ourselves in China’s dynamic fashion industry.

Visit to CCCT-ChenFeng Fashion Hub

We started our 3rd day at the CCCT-ChenFeng Fashion Hub, a center of innovation in the Chinese fashion industry. This hub, supported by CCCT (China Chamber of commerce of import and export for Textile) and ChenFeng Group, along with 2 top fashion university. The hub serves as an incubator and testing facility for many fashion designers. There were lots of advanced R&D, technology, and resources available, which bring the visions of Chinese fashion designers to life.

The discussion focused on synergies between our two countries' fashion industries, and a lively Q&A session followed, setting the stage for future partnerships. Throughout the day, over 50 representatives from top Vietnamese fashion brands, such as YODY , MIAN GROUP , STYLE LOUNGE , GUMAC ... engaged in deep exchanges with 40 Chinese counterparts such as 森马 , Hotwind , and XCOMMONS . Visit to XC273 and Q&A Session with ChenFeng and CCCT

Our final stop was in Shanghai at ChenFeng’s fashion atelier, XC273. We explored the latest fashion collections and engaged in a Q&A session with the founder of Chenfeng group, Mr. Yin Guoxin, who provided valuable insights into the brand's strategic vision and personal advice.

Delegation got another chance to learn from Mr. Yin, who are successful in both manufacturing (Chenfeng Group is the biggest supplier of Uniqlo in China) and Fashion
The question that worth all of us thinking: How can fashion industry and brands be benefited from the growth of manufacturing? Can both side be benefited by cooperate?

Vietnamese Delegation’s Impressions and Future Prospects - The answer

The Chinese fashion industry has grown remarkably, thanks to a strong supply chain and robust government support. Brands are thriving in this environment, reaping the benefits of these strategic advantages. In Vietnam, we should aim to create a similar cohesive group for designers and brands. By joining forces, we can enhance our collective strength and bring more benefits to our fashion community and beyond. As Vietnam continues to refine its supply chain, greater attention and support from both manufacturers and the government will be crucial. Designers and brands can play a pivotal role by contributing fresh ideas and designs, ultimately helping manufacturers achieve better margins in the long run.
