Despite everything you may hear, great managers will always be essential—to build cohesive, scalable teams, mentor individuals, and think beyond daily operations. Managers play a vital role in bringing out the best in their team members and steering them towards common objectives.
But the modern manager’s life isn’t easy. Between packed calendars, never-ending Slack messages, and constant distractions, staying on top of it all can feel overwhelming. And yet, effective managers find ways to coach their teams, help them build new skills, and inspire them to perform at their best.
This is where AI can be a real game-changer. While 2024 was focused on making Individual Contributors (ICs) more productive—often referred to as the “super IC” phenomenon—2025 is shaping up to be the year of the supermanager. With the right tools and mindset, managers can use AI to amplify their impact, freeing up time for meaningful interactions while fostering growth and collaboration within their teams.
What makes a supermanager? The best managers have a few key traits: they provide clear, actionable feedback, guide their team in understanding what excellence looks like, and ensure everyone works towards shared goals. AI is now enabling managers to scale these skills across their teams. By incorporating AI tools and frameworks, they can support their teams more effectively, whether it’s by providing feedback, sharpening decision-making skills, or improving communication.
