Selling real estate is anything but ‘business as usual’ in today’s environment. How do you buy a home and keep safe? How does your agent show a home safely? We want to give you some reassurance and certainty about keeping your family safe when buying a home with Marti Hampton Real Estate.

You may have heard if you can find a ‘spouse’ online – you can find a house on-line? That is supposed to be a funny line, but in truth, you and your agent can do much more to narrow your home search by working together virtually. You will learn about the home by viewing virtual tours, drone videos and studying the floor plans online. Then we suggest you drive by to check out the home and neighborhood.  

Next, since you don’t ‘marry’ a spouse online – it is not unheard of but you usually don’t buy a home without visiting the house. We recommend that you do visit the home personally. Here are some extra precautions when viewing a home with our team. 

Here is SOP for viewing a vacant home: 

• Your agent will meet you at the home of interest.  
• Your agent will unlock the door and turn on all the lights and open all the doors for your viewing.  
• Your agent will meet you before entering the home and provide protective gloves and foot covers.  
• If the home has not been vacant for a minimum of 14 days, face coverings will be provided.
• You will walk through the vacant home without your agent.  
• After you view the home, your agent will meet you at the front door and together you will decide how to proceed with an offer.
• After you leave, your agent will go back through the home, turn off all the lights and lock all the doors.

In case the home is occupied we ensure to follow all CDC social distancing guidelines including staying 6 feet apart, wearing masks and gloves, and proper sanitation.

Your agent can go over all this information with you in an open air setting or virtually. Your home inspections and other due diligence items can be completed with a virtual walk through with our experienced inspectors.
