How ButterflyMX Team Members Are Welcoming Fall

The best workplaces don’t just offer great benefits and opportunities; they create environments where employees can relax and get to know one another outside of the typical work structure. That’s why at ButterflyMX, we host regular team-building events to bring our employees together based on their personal interests in order to foster great professional and interpersonal relationships.?

Being a remote workforce doesn’t stop us from getting together regularly to celebrate the little things like the changing seasons! In fact, just this month, all of our team members were invited to welcome autumn.

You may be wondering how a primarily remote and distributed workforce can come together to celebrate the little things like fall — without being in the same office to take coffee breaks or appreciate the changing leaves from the same window! Here at ButterflyMX, we make this possible through monthly team-building activities, and this month, we rang in October with a wreath-making class!

All members of the ButterflyMX community were invited to attend this activity, led by our incredible Community Events Team.?

Attendees were sent a wreath-making kit consisting of a bare grapevine wreath ready to be decorated. Additionally, they got a bag of orange, yellow, and red fall flowers, a small scarecrow, and a pumpkin with flower wire to securely attach everything to the wreath.?

During the class, they constructed their wreaths according to the design aesthetic they prefer. Some attendees filled every inch of their wreath for an overflowing look, while others took a minimalistic approach with a few spare flowers. No matter the approach they took, everyone was left with a bright and welcoming fall wreath that makes their front door easily identifiable — and reminds them of the fun event every time they come home.

Lauren Keating, ButterflyMX’s Social Media Coordinator, joined the event to add a pop of color to her apartment door while bonding with her fellow ButterflyMXers.

Lauren attends every community-building event she can. “Working remotely comes with its challenges; the most pressing is forming relationships with my coworkers — especially the ones I don’t work with on a regular basis. But the monthly community events have opened the door to making new friends and getting to know my coworkers in a whole new way. The resulting craft is a pretty sweet perk, too!”

And this perk was enjoyed by every attendee! Smiles abounded at the end of the activity, when the event leader, a crafting specialist hired by our Community Events Team to lead the event, had everyone hold their unique wreaths up for a remote photo-op.?

But this fall wreath-making class isn’t the only celebratory community event you can expect when you join the ButterflyMX team!

In fact, seasonal events from the last year and a half include:

  • A winter candle-making class featuring hot-chocolate-shaped and scented DIY candles.
  • A cookie decorating class with red, white, and blue icing for the Fourth of July.?
  • A butterfly enclosure building class to celebrate spring and our company’s namesake.?
  • A succulent planting class to ring in summer and add a pop of green to every attendee’s space.?

Through these events, the ButterflyMX People Team is able to bring together employees from all teams in order to foster new connections and make friends with their coworkers — no matter where in the world they work from!

As ButterflyMX grows and expands our wings, we’re excited to continue hosting community team-building events to help our hundreds of remote workers remain a tight-knit community of workers.
