?? How to Build Your Own Momentum

?? How to Build Your Own Momentum

I have wanted to start and run my own company for as long as I can remember.?

I used to tell myself a lot of BS excuses.

Things like:

“I don’t have any good business idea for a SaaS (Software as a Service) business"

“No one in my family has been an entrepreneur, maybe it’s not for people like me”

“What if I fail?”

During 2022 I lost the motivation for being an employee.?

Completely.

Looking back it was the perfect situation to finally build something of my own.

But back then it was really hard.

I didn’t just wake up one day and make the decision.?

It came to me gradually.?

After all, I’ve been an employee my entire life.?

I know what the employee path looks like.

And I know in my whole being that it's not for me anymore.?

This is how I got started

Looking back this is what my journey has looked like so far:

  1. In January 2022 I started building an audience on LinkedIn. I was convinced this thing called Personal Branding is going to blow up.?

2. I took a 3 month break after leaving my 9-5.

3. After the break I started doing advisory/consulting.

4. I had a one-page website and used mostly my LinkedIn profile?

5. I built a personal branding program in July 2022 when I started getting requests from CEOs around the world to help them build their personal brand on LinkedIn

“Can you teach me how to do what you’re doing on LinkedIn?”

Yes, sure I can.

So I built a program.

6. In September 2022 I started my first newsletter: The future of work. Todays its grown to almost 64,000 subscribers.

7. I launched my first FREE ebook in October 2022 helping people to find remote jobs

8. I started saying yes to some sponsors both on LinkedIn posts and my newsletters.

9. I tried fractional CRO work.?

10. I double downed on building my audience.

11. I started Huntrs in May last year (2023) and started offering more services to startups through freelancers who work for me.

12. I kept iterating on all the services we offered.

13. I started the Huntrs newsletter.

14. In October I launched my first digital products and started selling while I sleep.

15. I have built an entire ecosystem around audience building on LinkedIn…

16. We added design services to the list of offerings because our clients need it.

My point is:

You don’t need to have everything figured out.?

No one has in the beginning.

Things will blow up, break, people will disappoint you, it will take time, some things will work really well, you will question yourself..2 steps forward one step back.

What you do need: a relentless conviction and vision, and you got to love problem solving.?

Get started and the path will reveal itself.

How most companies are born

Most people start trading their time for money.?

Gradually they start building products, programs, services.?

And they build from there.?

This is what I did too.

One big goal

Commit to a goal that is so big, it scares the hell out of you.

→ Find the fuel that will help you stay consistent (for me its freedom and independence)

→ Forget perfection.

→ Slice it up.

→ Turn it into an obsession.

→ Prepare to get uncomfortable.

And just START.

Move in that direction every single day.

If you don’t, someone else will do this for you, and you will spend your whole life building someone else’s dream.

Too many people lose momentum in their lives because they don’t take action.

Waiting for things to feel good and look perfect is stopping so many people from getting started.

And live the life they want to live.

Change is never comfortable.

It’s not supposed to feel perfect.

If it does, you have probably waited too long.

Adopt the brick by brick mindset and get started today.

During these 2 years I have:

- Quit my 9-5 job

- Started my company

- Grown 2 newsletters to 66,000+ subscribers

- Grown an audience from 6,000-125,000+ followers

- 5-30 inbound leads from my organic content everyday

- Said goodbye to clients and freelancers that did not match with my values

- Helped so many clients build their businesses

- Built programs, products and services

- Built a 6-figure inbound business

- Built multiple revenue streams

- Have clients in 23+ countries

- Failed so many times

- Worked my *ss off

- Taken a lot of risk

Would I do it again?

Hell yeah.

I very much enjoyed this article, spoken from the heart and very real. Today there is no such thing as job loyalty, not in our generation, where we can easily be "let go" and replaced by a program or become outsourced for 1/4th of what we earned. It's a sad trend I seen in American companies but sometimes its the push that we need to launch our own business. Keep up the amazing work.

Wooooow Hanna!! That's so wonderfully generous, you're an outstanding human, a smart, strong woman, and these inspired thoughts come from my hold on two generations (55 years' total, investigative, crime and related plus general reporting) at top level murdoch (i copped only three years with that rm bloke, who lol was spewed on in a cab, after a sleazy drunk dinner, with Adrian tame, and tossed on by Owen Thompson, ex oz editor, 15 years rupis au right hand, then partnership (mark day) bought melb truth national tabloid. And this is wot you wanna hear, Owen Thompson was the true, real, basis for Barry humphries' Sir Les Patterson haha Thank you. If everyone did what you have, just here, just once a year, well....
