How to Build Your First $10K/Month Business (From Someone Who’s Now Making $3M+ a Year)

Over the past eight years, I’ve learned what really works when it comes to building a profitable online business. Starting with my own $10K months, I’ve scaled up to $3M+ per year—and I’ve helped hundreds of clients reach that $10K/month milestone in just a few months. No gimmicks, no shortcuts—just the simple steps to build something real and sustainable. Here’s how to get there.

1. Find Your “Thing” and Stick to It

A common mistake is trying to do too much at once—coaching in different areas, consulting, maybe a little self-development work on the side. It’s tempting, but it spreads you thin. One of my clients, Sam, wanted to coach in dating, business, and self-development. Great skills, but trying to juggle them all kept him from gaining traction.

How to Find Your Focus: Start by listing challenges you’ve personally overcome, no matter how small. Then, rate each based on:

  • Passion: How much do you actually enjoy talking about this?
  • Problem: Is this a big problem for others?
  • Expertise: How skilled and confident are you in this area?
  • Wealth: Do people see this as valuable enough to pay for?

When you find an area that checks all these boxes, you’ve found your niche. Keep it simple and stick to that.

2. Choose One Platform to Focus On

Trying to be everywhere—posting on Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, TikTok—can be overwhelming and ineffective when you’re starting out. Instead, pick one platform that best fits your audience and your strengths, and make it your home base.

Platform Breakdown:

  • Instagram & TikTok: Great for visual content and regular posting.
  • LinkedIn: Ideal for B2B and text-based posts.
  • Facebook: Strong for building communities and hosting in-depth conversations.

Start showing up consistently on that platform and see what resonates with your audience. No need to be everywhere at once.

3. Get Comfortable by Offering Free Help First

Charging right out of the gate can feel intimidating. When I started, I hosted free seminars to build my confidence and credibility. Three people showed up to my first one, and I asked them to bring a friend next time. Two weeks later, I had a room of 10, and things grew from there.

How to Get Started: Offer free sessions or consultations to a few test clients. Ask for testimonials in return, which you can post to build credibility and make it easier to bring in paying clients later on.

4. Let Happy Clients Bring in New Clients

Once you have some testimonials, post them. When potential clients see real stories from people you’ve helped, they’re more likely to reach out. This creates a “flywheel effect” where each happy client brings in new ones, making growth easier.

Pro Tip: Go above and beyond for those first few clients. Their good experiences will become your best (and free) marketing.

5. Once You’ve Gotten Some Wins, Start Charging More

Once you’re seeing results and feeling confident, don’t be afraid to raise your prices. Higher prices not only increase your income—they make clients take the process more seriously and often lead to better results.

How to Make the Shift: Start with an introductory rate, then gradually increase as demand grows. Before you know it, you’ll be confidently charging $2,000+ per client.

Bottom Line

Building a $10K/month business doesn’t have to be complicated. Pick a niche, focus on one platform, and offer genuine value. Over time, let your clients become your biggest advocates, then gradually increase your prices as you build momentum. It’s not a magic formula, but it’s a proven path to a business that supports your goals.

Anywho, hope that's helpful for anyone out there - have an epic week! GG
