How to Build a Winning Culture - Appreciate and Value Team Members

In order to build a winning culture, each team member should feel understood and valued, no matter what their position. Having a purpose and feeling valued drives employee excellence.

Leaders can facilitate this by 1) publicly and privately acknowledging work well done; 2) sending thank you and congratulation notes; 3) creating prestigious positions in the company - Advisory Panels and Presidents' Councils; and 4) most importantly, taking time to celebrate successes - throw a back-office pizza party, take your team out bowling or go-carting - show them you care!

Acknowledgement and celebration are essential to fueling passion, making people feel valid and valuable, and giving the team a real sense of progress that makes it all worthwhile. - Dwight Frindt

As a Manager maybe you should ask yourself - is my team giving their best? And if the answer is no - time to look in the mirror.
