HOW TO BUILD AN UNSTOPPABLE MINDSET

In sales, we face enormous amounts of rejection and pressure, and how we process this will have a massive impact on our success. On today's Brutal Truth podcast, I interview someone who has spent the last 20 years selling in one of the most competitive and demanding B2B markets. What he shares applies to anyone who wants to be successful in enterprise sales.

What you will learn:

  • How do you sell into accounts already in a contract with a competitor?
  • How can you differentiate your company even when others can sell the same product?
  • Focus your prospects on what they need to include by not buying from you.
  • How do you prepare for important meetings so you will win?
  • What separates the best from the rest?
  • What it takes to be a top performer year after year.

I got a question for the group any feedback even if it’s brutal would be appreciated… Lately, I've been struggling with something that’s been a recent issue for me. When I'm talking to a prospect, things seem to start off well. In the first 10-15 minutes of the conversation, I'm fully engaged, listening intently to everything they say without interrupting. I respond with phrases like "I see" or "I understand," to show that I'm listening without cutting them off. However, after they've spoken for about 10-15 minutes and I start talking, things begin to shift. Within the first 5 to 7 minutes of me speaking—especially as I start asking important questions about where they stand and how they feel—they suddenly have to end the call, often saying they have another phone call or something else to attend to. This has happened consistently over the last 3-4 calls, and I’m not sure what’s causing it. I’m listening carefully and responding thoughtfully, yet when I get closer to discussing the benefits of my program, they seem to abruptly need to leave.
