How to Build Loyal Audiences | Insights from Kim Doyal

How to Build Loyal Audiences | Insights from Kim Doyal

In today’s fast-paced digital world, building a loyal audience can feel overwhelming.

With so many tools, platforms, and strategies to choose from, where should you start?

I recently sat down with Kim Doyal — podcaster, newsletter expert, and editor of The Spark — to talk about the evolving landscape of newsletters, email marketing, and the tools to help you grow your audience.

We covered a lot of ground, including:

  • The difference between newsletters and traditional email marketing.
  • How platforms like Substack, Beehive, and ConvertKit stack up.
  • Kim’s advice for embracing imperfection and staying real as a creator.

If you’re looking for actionable insights on building engagement and growing your brand through email marketing and newsletters, this is the conversation you don’t want to miss.

In addition to the article , which I highly recommend, the full podcast episode with Kim is dropping soon.

Of the many shows I've hosted, this is one of my all-time favorites. You'll enjoy Kim’s gift for storytelling and the wisdom she shares about online business, marketing, and more. Coming soon.

Did someone say livestreaming on Substack? Well, guess who just started a publication ? That’s right—me! But it’s not just another newsletter. It’s a new home for my content in various formats, offering more than just posts.

Substack has always intrigued me as a platform that speaks to my author side with long-form writing, while also embracing podcasts, video content, and even Twitter-like Notes. The addition of livestreaming made it impossible to resist, and I’m committed to posting there regularly.

?? I'm posting the full podcast episode with Kim Doyal exclusively on Substack. Subscribe for free to access the podcast when it drops.

What really sets Substack apart is its guarantee of delivery straight to your inbox. Unlike a Facebook group, where notifications often get buried or are only sent to a small percentage of your audience, every long-form article and podcast post I make on Substack lands in your email, so you never miss out. It’s a more direct, reliable way to build community and engage one-on-one.

Now, with the ability to livestream, Substack has become even more dynamic. I can offer real-time interactions alongside my written posts, Notes, and podcasts, making it the ultimate platform for staying in touch with you in multiple ways. I’m excited to explore these new features and create even deeper connections with you.
