How To Build A Blissful Legacy To The World

I lived in Westchester when my mother visited and the first thing she said: "How did you end up here?" I couldn't give her a straight up answer so I just hugged her and welcomed her to my world in New York. When I was seventeen years old I had a dream of going to the USA. But how would I make that happen I had no idea because my family did not have ways of paying for an International trip. We did not even go on family vacations outside the Mato Grosso State. I wanted to learn English because I fell in love with the different words and sounds and wanted to expand the way I communicated. I told my grandma and she said that I could research an English school that she would provide me the Education. Every time that I would spot a tourist in my hometown I would introduce myself and practice my English. I was not concerned if I sounded perfect, all that I want it was to listen and learn more and more.
I was an intern in an Exchange Program agency which I had the opportunity to improve my English and get a sense of possibilities career wise. I worked with the company for four years, it did help me to become familiar and focused on my goal of traveling abroad.
Coming to the United of States meant that I could explore my dreams. Visit different places, meet new people, explore the world as a whole without any fear.
At first my family did not understand the reason of my career/ life choices because I was not home (Cuiabá). I'm proud to say that I was able to inspire my sister (after 10 years that I have lived abroad). She decided that she will take part on an Exchange Program because she's ready now.
Be fearless is the key to success in life and to build a legacy for yourself and family.
Actually I can say that I have two homes, two different worlds that I love to live in. I go to Brazil every year, and I love that I'm always learning something new about the United States. It brings me joy that my younger sister wants to explore and travel as well. Everything that I have done and been through it's worth it. I did build my own legacy in my family and that brings me joy. I'm a pioneer in my family's world and regardless of what people say I know my values and I'm happy to pass it on.

8 年I didn't know you, Wilka, when this was originally published. However, what you have accomplished is impressive and takes determination and a passion for what you do. That was clear from our sales calls in NYC in August. Much continued success!
