How To Build A $1M Per Year Consultancy Or Coaching Business With WorldBuilding-?

This is a practical guide that'll show you how to build your own world and get strangers on LinkedIn to pay you money & become your best case study.

The way I run my business comes down to this exact model.

And it's also what I install for all my clients to help them hit $1m/year coaching businesses & consultancies.

Now let's begin... and make you one of us, a world builder.

Step 1: Defining The Worlds Around Us

You're already in someone's world (or even multiple worlds).

You just don't know it, or have a name for it.

Think Apple, Pokémon, Manchester United, The Mafia, Donald Trump, or Hermes.

Which of these are you are loyal fan of?

(I've found the best example to be "Friends", everyone loves Friends).

But did you ever ask why?

It's because they make people feel connected, aligned, and invested.

They give them a sense of identity.

And they are not just a business or brand or show.

They are the whole experience.

So here's how I define worldbuilding (in my own fancy way):

Worldbuilding is about creating an immersive experience where people stay, transform, and pay for years to come.

And the way we build worlds is by moving "backwards".

We start with the end in mind, which is the experience.

It's the opposite of what online gurus tell you, which is to build your business "working forwards".

Marketing to sales to offers.

Yes, it can work.

But it requires a lot of trial and error from your end.

Because there are so many variables to test (i.e., ads, banner design, organic content, community offer, funnel, personal branding, etc.)

And that can be very time-consuming (may even take years).

So, we work backwards... which means that we start from how we deliver value to the market place.

This is the sequence a person goes through in your world.

From stranger, to lead, to customer, to client, to case study.

And that's how we categorize them within worlds.

I call this: the client evolution.

Let me quickly define them to make sure we are on the same page:

  1. Lead — someone we’ve earned the right to communicate with (i.e., lead magnet)
  2. Customer — someone who has transacted with us (i.e., bought something for 1 time)
  3. Client — someone we commit time/resources to (i.e., bought your core offer)
  4. Case study — someone you got a result for

Now that we've got the groundwork out of the way, let's get into the fun stuff.

Step 2: Be Clear On How You Get Case Studies

Case Study = Offer (Invite) + Value Delivery Elements

You have to first imagine as if you already have clients.

Then answer this question: "how am I going to make sure they get the results they are here for?"

As a coach, consultant, or expert, it most probably will be through a combination of:

  • Resources, templates, and cheat sheets
  • Pre-recorded online videos
  • Coaching or consultation calls (1:1 or group)
  • Workshops, masterclasses, seminars (online & offline)
  • Done-for-you elements

These are your value delivery elements.

Your choice depends on:

  • How much time you want to spend delivering
  • And how involved you want to be in the delivery

Pro-tip: if you don't have 10-15 clients, don't think about making it "scalable" just yet.

The value elements will give you clarity on "what you'll do".

But most people stop there.

You are not most people, and you will not go to market with raw value elements.

Because you are a world builder and have higher standards.

But really... don't. It just keeps you in "service territory" where you'll compete with others doing the exact same thing as you are making it impossible to stand out & charge what you are worth.

Example: every life coach selling a 45-minute 1:1 session for $120.

The solution is easy, you wrap the value elements in an envelope so it looks more like an "invite".

That's what we call an offer.

It's an invitation to working with you in a way the market wants and understands.

It's also why I push to get the offer done within the first week of joining Seyola.

How I apply it: what gets people into Seyola is my offer document (the invite). What I go through to make sure they get results is through the value delivery elements.

Action Items:

  • Choose and write down your value delivery elements
  • Wrap it up in an invite that promises only one outcome
  • Validate it by sending it to 10 people in your market & ask for feedback

Step 3: Get Clients

We want people to say yes to our offer.

Ideally, 25%-30% is a percentage of "yes-es" we aim for with an offer.

That is 3 yes-es out 10 people who see your offer (the invite to working with you).

To get to that number, you need to make 3 sales:

  1. Sold on you (they know, trust, and like you)
  2. Sold on your method (they believe the way you do things works)
  3. Sold on your offer (they feel the offer works with their time and money commitments)

Here's where most people go wrong: they only focus on selling the offer.

And forget that there is a human behind the offer that is the "sale blocker".

An organic content base tackles this because it:

  • Presells people on the benefits of working with you
  • Handles all the sales objections before they actually become objections

The rule I have is to give people at least 7-hours worth of binge-able content at different locations (read the 7-11-4 rule by Google for details why).

We need to become the Netflix of our market.

A great example was the trump election.

He had more "binge-able content" than the other party.

The tools you can use to replicate this effect is:

  • Long-form videos (personal favorite along with YouTube)
  • Offer documents
  • Sales calls
  • DM conversations
  • Emails (and redirects)
  • Trainings, Workshops

Action Items:

  • Create your offer document and send it to at least 1 person daily
  • Make a big playlist of binge-able content on YouTube to get those 7-hours in fast

Step 4: Creating A Pool of Customers

90% of people don't do this and it's the secret that makes getting clients easy and effortless.

I say "effortless" because it's true, you don't need to do more work to get customers.

You use what you already do for your clients but package it differently (change how the invite looks like, the offer).

Pro-tip: if you want a consistent flow of clients in your business, grow your pool of customers. Because a person who has bought something from you in the past has the highest likelihood of ascending.

Based on the data I have, 10% of customers become clients (that's 10 out of 100).

This also tests for buying intent with your leads.

Some customer offers examples are:

  • Public seats to weekly masterclasses we deliver to clients
  • Small subset of training videos or templates (small digital product)
  • A live workshop or event

Action Items:

  • Make daily customers offers and have them floating around just in case someone is interested

Step 5: Getting Leads

You thought this would be the first step, "lead generation".

You just found it it's not.

The final thing you do is dial in how to drive attention to your offer and start getting leads.

Here's a 4-step process to never have a lead problem again:

  • Test messaging and positioning with organic content until something hits and resonates with your audience.
  • Use the winners to run them as ads and make variations of the same messaging.
  • Keep repeating this cycle until you perfectly dial your messaging in..
  • Add friction by giving people the opportunity to give you their email or message you in any way (many people miss this part and then say content doesn't work).

Action Items:

  • Dial in your exact target audience pains, fears, aspires, and wants (speak to them in every piece of content).
  • Follow a certain LinkedIn or Instagram strategy for growth to test the content ideas

To Summarize:

With the steps above, you should now be able to build your own world and start indoctrinating your market.

This is my first time sharing my model, and I'm planning to be very vocal about it because I've proven that it works.

If you've read it this far, it shows that you go through my stuff and want to give with you something (I hope not many reach this far so I don't give it to many people).

I did a private 1-hour masterclass for my clients a couple of weeks back about worldbuilding going into full details of what you just read, DM me "33" with your email and ill send it over to you for free.
