How a Broken Bike Taught Me a Valuable Lesson About Crisis Management ??

Recently, on a cycling trip in Italy, one of our bikes stopped working, and we assumed the back wheel axle was broken.

?? We started walking for what felt like miles ?? in the sweltering heat ?? to find a bike shop. After 2 hours of waiting, the bike mechanic gave us the good news - the back wheel was not broken, it just needed tightening!

?? Talk about a #FacePalmMoment!

This whole ordeal taught me the importance of avoiding #ConfirmationBias in crisis management. Our brains often jump to conclusions without considering all the evidence, which can lead to suboptimal decisions. ?? Instead, we should take the time to gather all the facts and challenge our assumptions. ??

In short, don't let biases cloud your judgment in a crisis! Take a deep breath, gather all the facts, and make informed decisions. ?? It could save you a lot of unnecessary stress and sweat! ??

Brilliant! Simple yet effective way to remind us we must always think twice before making an assumption.
