How British Gas helped our Foodbank

When Knottingley Foodbank had to move to a delivery only model during the Coronavirus pandemic it was British Gas that came to the rescue. During the crisis the foodbank has been as busy as ever but as we were unable to open our doors we urgently needed delivery drivers to get out essential supplies.

In a partnership with the Trussell Trust, the British Gas team have gone above and beyond for Knottingley Foodbank and others. By letting their furloughed colleagues support local communities and charities. They have provided us with people and transport to support our vital deliveries and collection of urgent food supplies.

A huge thank you and some pictures to share of our team; Team Leader Josh Addy (left) Steve and Dave (above) who for our foodbank alone have collected more than 3 tonnes of food and delivered to over 200 households. Your support has made a huge difference to people who would otherwise have suffered isolation, hunger and hardship. It has been fantastic to work with you over the last few months and we wish you well on your return to normal duties at British Gas.

See how you can help your local Foodbank. On top of food donations there is always a need for willing volunteers to make a big difference in their communities. Help us to stop UK hunger. Search www.trusseltrust.org.
