How to be a Brilliantly Successful Principal Today

Do you want to be an amazing principal? Are you stuck doing the same things every day? It's time to change your goals. Don't fear the possibility that it will require a lot of change and a lot of work. Everything that you do to change your direction will be worth it. Get a partner and a mentor who can hold you accountable for taking new steps each day. Brain storm with your staff and faculty about everything they would change and ask what they would be willing to do to make the change that they suggested happen. Focus on improving your students’ academic performance one student at a time and soon your school will have many students who are excelling academically. Here are some additional ideas:

1. Get the best training for your teachers.

2. Partner with industry to prepare your students for their career.

3. Never be too busy to talk to the students every day to uncover knowledge are and are not learning.

4. Invest in student counselors they are the glue that holds a school together.

5. Go to homes to talk to parents about success and challenges it will build your credibility. 

6. Get everyone involved in tutoring students.

7. Greet every student at the door they will know that you care.

8. Go to at least two conferences a year to renew your energy. 

They say that I insanity is doing the same thing over again and expecting different results. Get up in the morning with a new determination to make your school the best school ever created. Your mind set will determine how far you go and what you accomplish. Surround yourself with positive people who can give you good advice. Realize that the administrators and teachers in your school are actually thirsty for something new and innovative to happen. Don't disappoint them. Wake up with a renewed internal fire to make a positive difference in your students, teachers and administrators every day. The best is yet to come.
