How to Break Out of "The Funk"

I got a question this week about how to get out of “the funk”.

We’ve all been there.

You’re leasing a property, or a few properties.

You’ve been canvassing, reaching out to national retailers, cold calling, everything you’re supposed to do... But it’s just not cutting it.

It’s easy to lose motivation when the fundamentals don’t work for you. But here is a little tip to break from the mundane and get you inspired again.

Call a friend. Particularly someone in your firm, or someone who works in your same market. Someone who canvasses.

This can even be someone working in a different asset class! You lease retail? Go ahead and canvass with an office leasing agent to get a new perspective.

Set up a canvassing afternoon or morning.

This keeps you accountable: you're going to canvass and you're going to ask them for genuine feedback. Agree with them that you won’t stop until you get at least 30 or so business cards.

You’re going to share your flyers with each other. You're going to get feedback on your pitch. Most importantly, you're going to have fun, and it will get you out of your funk.

Not to mention this will get you at least one lead, guaranteed!

Get up, get out, and get inspired, Rockstars!
