Develop Your Unique Selling Proposition (USP)
Your USP goes beyond your skills and educational background. Think about what makes you unique and what value you can bring to potential employers. Figure out how your credentials and strengths can be used to create a strong personal message and develop your own ‘elevator pitch’ that you feel comfortable communicating during interviews and networking events. MBA graduates do carry a premium price tag for future employers so they want to see the full potential communicated to them.
Conduct Research on Target Companies
Before pitching yourself for any position it is important to research target companies so you are familiar with their culture, values, goals, objectives, etc. You should also make sure that your online presence is up-to-date and clean. Showing potential employers you have taken the time to understand the ins and outs of the business puts them at ease by demonstrating your dedication towards excellence. This you can do via a standard internet search, investor relations presentations, the latest news, and, most importantly, through discussions with current employees.

Take Advantage Of Online Presence And Social Media Platforms
In today’s digital world, most employers pay attention to social media profiles as part of their screening process. This gives them insight into your personality traits and interests which can be beneficial when assessing if you are a good fit for their team or not. Keep all professional networks updated such as LinkedIn where relevant details regarding job experience should be pinned down with precision — this includes showcasing projects worked on either independently or while working with teams. Remember that most recruiters will see your Linkedin profile first, well before having access to your CV or cover letter. Make sure your Linkedin profile represents your future.
Utilize Your Network To Make Connections
Networking is hugely beneficial when it comes to building relationships with recruiters or potential employers; don’t be afraid to ask for help from alumni, colleagues, or friends — networking is what helps great ideas spread from one person to another! It also provides invaluable advice from actual industry professionals who can share tips on how best to segue into different roles within certain organizations or even provide introductions to help get your foot through the door at specific companies!
All in all, having an effective personal branding plan sets optimal conditions for successfully positioning yourself in the market, giving more weight to your qualifications and abilities; increasing your chances of securing desired positions faster!
